In the 1910 census Laura says she is the mother of 3 children with 2 of them living. When the 1920 census was taken, this family can be found at 614 Eighth St. in Minneapolis (Hennepin), Minnesota. The family were lodgers in the home of Jennie Davis. “Will Shorky” was an engineer in some kind of court, and Russell and Alvina were electricians in an electrical shop. Also lodgers at this address were Frederick and Stella McKinnon. Frederick was a salesman and Stella was a Laundress at a laundry. When the 1930 census was taken, William and Laura were living in Minneapolis (Hennepin), Minnesota. Also in the household was Alvin Chartier and his wife and Stella and her husband Frederick McKinnon and their children, Clement, Russell and Florence McKinnon and Laura’s father, Frank Richards. William was a stationary engineer at the telephone company and Alvin was a truck driver for the telephone company.
