  	Francis Chartier first shows up in the 1850 Wisconsin Census in Farmington Township (Jefferson County). He and his family are also in Farmington Twp Census in the 1860 and 1870 censuses. Celinda had an earlier marriage to Joseph Reedt on 15 Dec 1836 in Henry County, Indiana. On May 20, 1862 a Francis Chartier appears before the Wausau, Wisconsin Land Office where he makes a Homestead Entry as shown below. This may not be VI- Francis Chartier because in 1885 he is still living in Oconomowoc. It is possible that his son Francis E. may have filed on this land, or it may be another Francis Chartier.
