Name |
Lionel CHARTIER |
- LIONEL CHARTIER was one of the last farm owners in old Pointe-aux-Trembles. In fact the land was located at the end of the road called "Cote St. Leonard". It was composed of parts of lots No.33, 34 and 35 with a total area of over 2 million square feet. This land was expropriated in 1957 to make way for "The Metropolitain Boulevard" and its accesses leading to The Montreal-Quebec super-highway by the North shore. Part of this land was V-Antoines. It then was passed to VI-JOSEPH and to VII-JULES who sold it to his cousin VII- FRANCOIS-XAVIER. When LIONEL CHARTIER died in 1971, all the children with their husbands and wives gathered (27) and, they formed "The Society of LIONEL CHARTIERS FAMILY" to manage the Estate electing a President, a Vice-president a Secretary and a Treasurer. Each year a member was responsible for organizing a party for all of the brothers and sisters and their consorts.
